Snow Guards and Snow Rails for Metal Roofing
Snow retention options for metal roofing include individual snow guards that are spaced and often staggered across the roof to snow rails – continuous barriers. We offer both stainless steel and polycarbonate snow guards as well as ColorGard® snow rails and snow rail trims.
Through Fastened Snow Guards
4500 Series
4500 Series stainless steel snow guards come in over 40 durable powder coat finishes or are available in a mill finish stainless. These 16 gauge snow guards feature an EPDM sealer on the bottom, eliminating the need for sealant.

PC240 Series
For through fastened panels, PC240 Series polycarbonate snow guards can be either adhesive mounted or fastened with both adhesive and screws.
Standing Seam Snow Guards
6500 Series
6500 Series stainless steel standing seam snow guards come in over 40 durable powder coat finishes or are available in a mill finish stainless. These snow guards include an integrated non-piercing clamp design that bolts to thin-seam vertical standing seam systems.

Snow Rails
ColorGard Snow Rail
ColorGard Snow Rails offer a continuous barrier against snow. Made from aircraft grade aluminum and stainless steel components, these 8′ long snow rails mount using S-5 Clamps (for standing seam) or S-5 Brackets (for through fastened panels), allowing installation on most panels. The front of these rails allows you to insert a metal strip (typically customer provided) to accurately match your roof finish.
ColorGard Snow Rails are quoted per project – call us so we can help calculate the quantities and components you need.
Snow Rail Trim
Snow Rail Trim are trim components (typically 10′ long). Unlike an engineered solution like ColorGard, these systems are not engineered. For that reason, exact snow loads and recommendations are unavailable. Mounted to the top of panel ribs (typically through fastener panels) snow rail trims should be fastened with extra-long screws.
